Dinosaur B-Day Cards w/Lawn Fawn Reveal Wheel

Hello crafty friends! Today I’m sharing 2 dinosaur themed birthday cards, created with the interactive Reveal Wheel from Lawn Fawn. I’ll admit, at first I was intimidated by the interactive part of making these cards, but once I began creating, I quickly learned how easy it was! I should have known it would be easy and fun to use the reveal wheel; after all, it’s from Lawn Fawn! I combined the reveal wheel with some of my favorite dinosaur sets from Pretty Pink Posh, and these fun cards are the result. Now, I’m off to find a fun friend to gift these to! Here’s how I created these adorable cards:

First, I created two A2 top-folding card bases using Lawn Fawn Paper Bag cardstock. Then I die cut the reveal wheel main dies from Neenah solar white classic crest 110lb, and the wheel portions from some cream cardstock in my scrap bin. I ink blended the backgrounds using the Dino Dig stencil from Pretty Pink Posh in distress oxide inks (fossilized amber for the stars, salty ocean and prize ribbon for the sky, and antique linen and gathered twigs for the dirt). I stamped “You are Dino-Mite!” and “Hope your birthday is",” and “You’re” and “Hope your day is Rex-Cellent!” in Versafine onyx black pigment ink. This is my favorite ink for stamping sentiments in! Just be careful - it’s a pigment ink, so it takes a bit of time to dry. I stamped various words in the reveal wheel window using Simon Says Stamp cappuccino ink.

Next, I stamped all the images on Neenah solar white classic crest 110lb using Hero Arts INTENS-ified black ink. This is my go-to ink for copic coloring! I colored the images with my copic markers:

  • Red: R24, R35, R39

  • Blue: B21, B26, B39

  • Greens: YG17, YG63 and YG63, YG67

  • Brown: E15, E18, E27

  • Orange: Y35, Y38, YR09

  • Yellow: Y35, YR15, Y38

Finally, I assembled the reveal wheel with a brad, and popped it up on my card using foam tape. It’s super helpful to visit Lawn Fawn’s website to watch videos on how to assemble the Reveal Wheel. I then added my critters to the card, after die cutting them out using the coordinating dies. I popped some up using foam tape and glued some others directly to the card panel. I finished the cards with some dew drops from Concord & 9th and a few footprints! I hope you have as much fun creating these cards as I did! The supplies I used are linked below for easy reference! Happy crafting!
