Even though it snowed 6 inches where I live today, spring is almost here! I dug through my stash of products looking for something spring-ish, and I found this perfect floral layering stamp and die set from Concord & 9th. I couldn’t resist creating a couple of cards using pink and blue! Here’s how I created these cards, and what I used to make them:

First, I used the Misti to position and stamp all 3 layers of each flower in multiple colors, and 2 layers for each of the leaves (all colors are listed out below by card!) using the Concord & 9th Painted Peony bundle. After stamping, I die cut everything out using the Spellbinders Platinum die cutting machine, and used a slimline die from Simon Says Stamp to die cut the background from Neenah classic crest 110lb cardstock in white. After die cutting the slimline background, I used the Concord & 9th Quilted Card Front Die to obtain the texture on the panels.

Next, I ink blended on the panels using distress oxide in salvaged patina for the blue card and saltwater taffy for the pink card, and sprayed them each with a bit of distress oxide spray in the same color. I let these dry for about 15 minutes before I stamped the sentiments using a combination of mushroom, sorbet, and peacock inks.

Finally, I arranged the flowers on the cards, popping some elements up using foam squares and glued the rest of the elements directly to the card panel. I finished off the card with red clay heart and clear dewdrop embellishments, before adhering the panels to slimline card bases.

C&9 inks used for flowers on both cards: ballet slipper, grapefruit, and sorbet for large flowers, aqua sky, oceanside, and peacock for small flowers, buttercup and stardust for flower centers, parsley and evergreen for leaves and also closer and evergreen for leaves, dove and mushroom for flower buds
